This seminar will examine workplace legal issues in the context of the ongoing COVID pandemic. A general overview of the following topics—and how they operate during the current public health crisis--will be discussed: layoffs/furloughs, sick leave, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and telecommuting.


Chance Hill

Chance Hill is an Associate in Sherman & Howard’s Labor and Employment Practice Group. He assists clients in the area of employment, government contracts, construction and general commercial litigation. Prior to becoming an attorney, Chance was an intelligence officer with the United States Navy and an analyst with the Central Intelligence Agency.


Matt Morrison

Matt is a talented litigator with a decade of experience advising and representing employers in a wide array of labor and employment matters. From single-plaintiff actions to collective and class action lawsuits in federal and state courts, Matthew “Matt” Morrison’s experience includes defending employers in cases arising under Title VII, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other employment statutes. Successful at handling both trials and appeals, he also is skilled in early motion practice, achieving summary judgment dismissal in a number of significant cases. Matt also represents employers before the federal Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission and state-plan occupational safety and health boards, and he advises employers on occupational safety and health compliance, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections and citations, and the development of safety and health programs.
