Speakers

Betty Jiang, Head of US ESG Research, Credit Suisse
Betty Jiang is a Director in the Securities Research Division and is the Head of US ESG Research. In addition to leading thematic research efforts in the US, Betty works with sector analysts to integrate ESG considerations into their company-specific research and provide unique and relevant ESG-related insights across various sectors/industries. Prior to her current role, Betty covered the US Oil & Gas Exploration and Production sector with a focus on the small/mid-cap companies for 12 years and was a member of the #2 ranked E&P team by Institutional Investor for the majority of that time. She also spent 2 years on the buy side with primary responsibilities for investments in the US E&Ps. She was named to the list of “Rising Stars of Wall Street” in 2014 by Institutional Investor magazine. Betty holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University and is a CFA charterholder.


Adam Shalapin, Global Sustainability Manager, Ball Corp

Adam Shalapin is the Global Sustainability Manager at Ball Corporation, a global leader in sustainable aluminum packaging solutions and aerospace technologies and services. Adam partners with stakeholders across Ball’s value chain to continuously enhance the sustainability credentials of the aluminum beverage can to drive long-term value creation. Adam is a systems-thinking, problem solver who has spent a decade working in corporate environmental and sustainability strategy and truly believes in sustainability as a business model. Adam’s current focus areas include developing the company’s approach to climate opportunity and risk, leading Ball’s renewable energy program, and supporting Ball’s Investor Relations team with ESG investor engagement. In 2018, Adam received the Ball Corporation Award of Excellence, a peer-nominated recognition, for his work to further the company’s global sustainability program and sector leadership during the integration of the largest acquisition in Ball’s 140-year history.

Prior to joining Ball, Adam worked in environmental and sustainability consulting for a wide range of industries and environmental risk management at United Airlines. He holds a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a Masters in Chemical Engineering with specialization in Energy, Environment, and Economics from the Illinois Institute of Technology.



Chad Spitler, Founder and CEO Third Economy

Chad Spitler is the Founder and CEO of Third Economy, a sustainable investment research and advisory firm. Chad was formerly a Partner at PJT CamberView, an advisory firm specializing in shareholder engagement particularly around complex or contested matters. He is most widely known for his role helping build what are now BlackRock’s Investment Stewardship and Sustainable Investing teams.



Brandon Potthoff, Manager, Investor Relations & Global Financial Risk, Ball Corp.
Brandon Potthoff joined Ball Corporation in 2013, a global supplier of metal packaging for beverage, personal care, and household products customers, as well as aerospace and other technologies and services for the U.S. government. Brandon has held multiple positions at Ball, and currently holds a dual role as the Manager of Investor Relations and Global Financial Risk, and the Title Treasury Analyst. Brandon holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Finance degree from the University of Colorado Boulder.
