Dinner Session

Topic: Managing to the Deal: The Insider’s View of M&A
Eric Mattson, Principal, Excellere Partners and Bob Forbes, Founder and President of The Forbes M+A Group
*CPE Details

CFOs often miss a seat at the table in the deal discussion. Instead, we are brought in late in the game, with limited effectiveness and our knowledge and experience are reduced in value.

Two of Denver’s most active deal-makers will show you how to change that scenario and establish your value early in the transaction.  Eric Mattson, Principal at Excellere Partners, will represent the private equity viewpoint and Bob Forbes, President of ForbesMA, will present the investment banker perspective: two different ways of evaluating the CFO performance on the same deal.

Professional Development Session I

Topic: Regulatory Update from Washington DC
Jake Vossen, Partner at Moss Adams
*CPE Details

This presentation will provide an update on all regulatory items that are needed to serve best practices.  As a member of the Center for Audit Quality’s SEC regulations committee, Jake Vossen will present an update on the new SEC commissioners, new PCAOB board members, and developments at AICPA and FASB for both public and private companies.

Professional Development Session II

Topic: Is your business Transferable?
Paul Lally, Partner at Wipfli CPAs and Consultants

After building a thriving business, entrepreneurs often hope their companies will perpetuate into the future. No matter which path an owner chooses for his or her business, transferable value is the common denominator of a successful transition. Truly understanding your business and its value goes beyond numbers. Whether you’re a newly launched startup or getting ready to plan your exit strategy, now is the perfect time to improve the transferability characteristics of your company.
